Health and Safety Policy

The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and anyone who may be affected by our business activities is paramount. No workplace is entirely risk free, but it is our responsibility to minimise risks at work. You have the right to work in a safe environment, without unnecessary risk from accidents.

One Degree North aims to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions for all employees, whether permanent or temporary, and to provide such information, training and supervision, as may be required to meet this objective. One Degree North also accepts responsibility for the health and safety of other individuals who may be directly affected by our activities.

Our Health and Safety procedures will be explained to you on day 1 of your employment by a Director. This conversation will include information on the following health and safety matters and a signature will be required as evidence of this conversation:

  • Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Fire Safety
  • Safe working environment
  • First Aid
  • Accidents & incidents 
  • Safe working operations – including topics such as display screen equipment, lone working, working off-site
  • Monitoring and Review of our health and safety procedures/systems

It is a requirement of your employment that you are familiar with these policies and any risk assessment related to the role that you perform. You will be provided with this information at the start, and during the course of your employment.

Health and safety in the workplace is everyone’s responsibility, employers have primary responsibility for all health and safety however all employees play a crucial role in this. 

As an employee of One Degree North, you are required to comply with all of our safe working practices and procedures, as well as your own legal obligations as an employee. If you fail to comply with these, this will result in disciplinary action and may lead to dismissal.
