First Consultation
Shortly after you have been notified that your role may be at risk of redundancy, One Degree North will arrange a first consultation with you. This will take place either on a group or individual basis.
Group Consultations – In some situations it may be appropriate to undertake consultation in a group with all those affected, during which, we will discuss with the group the rationale for making redundancies and potential ways of avoiding redundancies.
Individual Consultations – Where the redundancy pool includes fewer than 20 people, we will undertake individual consultation meetings with each employee at risk of redundancy. You are entitled to bring a work colleague or trade union official representative to these meetings. At the first individual consultation meeting we will discuss with you our rationale for making redundancies and potential ways of avoiding redundancies. You may be provided with a draft redundancy schedule which will outline the redundancy package that you would receive if you were made redundant, if eligible.
In some circumstances, where the redundancy pool includes fewer than 20 people, the process may be concluded within the first redundancy consultation.
