Lateness
If instances of lateness become consistent, then the amount of time away from the business accumulates. As employees are essentially not completing their contractual duties, this puts the business at a significant detriment, both in lost working time, and overpayment. To this end, it is vitally important that we as a business address any ongoing issues with lateness and align everyone’s expectations.
We recognise that from time to time, there may be unavoidable circumstances which cause you to be late. We are always ready to assist any employee when they experience genuine difficulties, whilst applying sanctions to anyone who seeks to abuse the situation. Excuses for lateness such as being stuck in traffic will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances, as you should plan your journey to allow enough time for predictable traffic delays.
If your level of lateness reaches a point which is felt to be unacceptable, then you will be invited to an investigatory meeting.
