Data Breaches
The Data Protection legislation requires us to store and process your personal data securely. We will protect it against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage. Where we do not comply, and a data breach occurs, we will keep a record of the personal data breach, and where required will declare this to the Information Commissioners Office within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach (where feasible).
All data breaches will be thoroughly investigated. If the breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will inform you and all parties without undue delay. We will describe, in clear and plain language, the nature of the personal data breach and, the name and contact details of our Data Protection Officer, Ian Richardson, a description of the likely consequences of the personal data breach; and a description of the measures taken, or proposed to be taken, to deal with the personal data breach and including, where appropriate, of the measures taken to mitigate any possible adverse effects.
