Security of Data
You must ensure that all information stored and accessed (including written information and that held on computer) is secure and cannot be accessed by other parties. Regardless of where you are working, all our data must be kept secure in line with the Data Protection legislation and our Data Protection Policy. Ensure all data is backed up regularly and all security systems including firewalls etc are updated on a regular basis in line with our IT policies.
All paperwork should be securely locked away and only be accessible to the colleagues – or better still it should be in electronic format! Make sure that your screens and documents can’t be overlooked by other people when you are working remotely on laptops.
If you are having conversations in public places, please be mindful of who is around you and could overhear your conversation. As far as possible, make sure you are having conversations in as private a location as you can, just as you would if you were in the office.
You must take care of equipment, software, files and any other information to make sure it isn’t lost. It is particularly important to ensure that other people (in the home or whilst working off site) can’t access confidential or personal information.
Failure to keep information secure will be considered as a serious matter and dealt with under the Disciplinary Procedure.
