In order for communication to be effective and positive, it needs to be relevant, courteous and professional. It is not appropriate to send any messages, images or communications which could breach any of our company policies or procedures or not be in the interests of the company. All communications should bear in mind how other people could perceive and receive them; before communicating or sending anything, always think how someone else would read your message.

All our communications also need to be in line with the requirements of the Data Protection legislation, which includes how we are communicating and the devices we are using for company business. For more information on this please see the earlier section on Data Protection – Section C.

Care also needs to be taken when using any form of communication, as all expressions of fact, intention, and opinion may bind you and/or One Degree North and can be produced in a court of law.

As any breaches of this policy could result in disciplinary action being started, please speak with the director(s).  if you have any queries or concerns about what this policy means for you and your role.
