If a Grievance has been raised against you
If a grievance has been raised against you, you will be notified within a reasonable timeframe. If the matter is being dealt with informally then you will be invited to take part in conversations to resolve the matters. You may also be invited to undertake mediation.
If the grievance has been raised formally you will be told as much information as is appropriate in the circumstances, however, initially this is unlikely to be the full details of the allegations. You will be invited to an investigation meeting where you will be questioned about the complaints that have been made and will be given a full opportunity to respond. You will have the opportunity to bring a work colleague or union representative to the meeting. If they are unable to attend the scheduled hearing, you should provide us with a new date and time as soon as possible and it must fall within 5 working days of the date and time you were originally given.
You will be kept updated about the progress of the investigation and, once the grievance has been concluded, if any wrongdoing has been identified this will be dealt with via the disciplinary process.
One Degree North recognises that being the subject of a grievance can be a stressful and upsetting time. If you need any support during this process, or have any questions, please speak to a director.
Dependent on the allegations that have been made it may be necessary to suspend you during the investigation. Taking this action does not presume guilt. The status quo will be kept wherever possible; however this will be dependent on the nature of the allegations that have been made.
At all stages of the grievance process we expect that you will keep all matters highly confidential, and you must not discuss the grievance with any employee, other than your representative.
