If there is a pool of employees, selection criteria may be used to identify who may be made redundant. These criteria:
- Only apply where more than one individual is in a redundancy pool.
- Are used to compare the candidates in a pool in order to select a low scorer who, if the proposals to make redundancies go ahead, is likely to be the individual made redundant.
Below are examples of objective criteria that we may use, however, they will need to be adapted depending on the situation, and this list is not exhaustive:
- Attendance record.
- Disciplinary record.
- Formal qualifications/advanced skills.
Although One Degree North aims to make redundancy decisions based on objective criteria wherever possible, there may not be sufficient information or indeed adequate records to do this, and so we may also decide to use a number of subjective criteria, including but not limited to:
- Skills and experience.
- Standard of work performance.
- Aptitude for work.
- Performance review.
