If using social media privately, there may be occasions where the boundaries of personal and business use collide – as colleagues often have friends, suppliers, or customers that they interact with on a social basis outside of work. In this instance, it is impossible to stipulate that colleagues cannot use this type of media to keep in contact with people, however, you should remain mindful of the type of language or behaviour displayed on social media, as although the content may be private or personal, due to the visibility of these forms of media, business relationships may still be compromised.
