We encourage all employees to further their knowledge, skills and understanding.  We are, therefore, supportive of those wishing to undertake professional study, where it can be demonstrated that this will further assist you in the completion of your job role and be of benefit to the Company as well as to you.  Should you wish to find out or agree a package of support, you should speak to the director(s) in the first instance, putting forward a case that involves:

  • The course that you would like to do;
  • Why it will benefit you in the achievement of your role;
  • How much time you would need for study and your proposal for mixing holidays, paid leave or unpaid leave to achieve the amount of study required;
  • How much the course costs and whether you are prepared to contribute;
  • What would happen if you failed an exam; and
  • What would happen should you leave the Company.

The director(s) will consider all of these and fully discuss them with you.  Once there is a verbal agreement it will be set out in a Study Agreement which you will be expected to sign, prior to your participation in the course or any payment from the Company contributing towards the course (whichever comes first).
